Design & Engineering

Responsibilities

• Development of OSP planning/design documentation, plans, and specification assembly.
• Design FTTx network architecture (Aerial & Buried) and plan OSP networks for end-to-end fiber connectivity to SFUs, MDUs, MTUs, etc.
• Responsible for planning/design/drafting/scoping/tasking/permitting and workprint creation for AT&T Switched Ethernet (ASE) or Light Gig (LG) projects (F1 and F2 SOW).
• Verify the feasibility of routes and addresses for all Living Units (LUs) under the respective Distribution Area (DA).
• Perform Right of Way (RoW) and Utility Easement (UE) verification using plats from relevant state government websites.
• Prepare high-quality construction drawings (Work Prints) on BSTCAD/ARAMIS including schematics, maps, and cut-outs.
• Use AT&T tools such as JMS, AOTX, MIC, LEIS, CFAS, ELP, OCALC, BSTCAD, and ARAMIS.
• Interpret field survey notes and O-Calc reports to produce final designs in BSTCAD/ARAMIS.
• Perform Excel macro tasks including fiber count assignment (Tethers), FOB Calc, Design QC, and BoM calculation.
• Coordinate with Level 1 QC team and update designs per feedback and requirements.
• Participate in weekly meetings with QC teams to discuss design queries and completion metrics.
• Handle special drawings, plant records, construction management documentation, and ensure project success.
• Meet or exceed business goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and adhering to timelines.
• Support deployment of access technologies and maintain customer access network integrity.
• Work on complex GPON design projects with upper-level complexity.
• Support post-design review with customers if required.
• Mentor and guide fellow team members to ensure continuous improvement and team success.

Technical and Professional Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with ARAMIS-DT, AutoCAD, BSTCAD, and MicroStation.
• Must have passed the AT&T assessment for ARAMIS access.
• Mandatory experience with Light Gig and ASE projects, covering F1 and F2 scope of work.
• Proven track record of high-quality work in previous roles.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player willing to contribute as needed.
• Ability to meet critical deadlines consistently.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Southeast and West AT&T markets is preferred and prioritized.
• Leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of 10–15 members if required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Flexible in terms of working hours and shift timings.
